New Zealand has a growing reputation as a world class events destination. The ETF conference content reflects current best practice, introduces new initiatives and addresses topical industry challenges in a diverse programme that includes dynamic international and national keynote speakers, facilitators and presenters. Respected international presenters provide the context, inspiration and a global overview of the events industry, while the Australian and NZ speakers provide applied tools and case study applications and experiences through breakout sessions. The programme is designed to maximise networking opportunities and includes workshops, an event showcase and an Industry update session.

The conference programme reflects the full spectrum of the events industry including policy & planning, funding, event production, marketing and sponsorship, and venue management. The event attracts event professionals from all sectors of the industry including sports, arts, festivals, business, education, government agencies, fundraising and is endorsed and supported by central government agencies, NZ Major Events, Ministry of Economic Development, SPARC, Asia Foundation New Zealand. The theme for 2012 is “Doing Business Better” by understanding the environment and changes and by learning how to overcome challenges and be more effective. Speakers from within the industry – and outside - will offer inspiring insights, overviews and examples of how they have delivered successful results by engaging in better business practices.
This year the programme format and content has been reviewed and organisers have introduced changes in focus and types of presentations to better meet the needs of a range of delegates including senior event professionals looking for business development and strategic options as well as those newer to the industry, looking for more technical and operational focused information sharing.
